OUR APD, OUR IMPACT: Gifting with Heart
This Festive Season, we’re celebrating the joy of giving to those we love, and to the community we’re proud to be part of.
This Festive Season, we’re celebrating the joy of giving to those we love, and to the community we’re proud to be part of.
While the Festive Season brings joy and celebration, it can also bring disruption to the routines that many persons with disabilities rely on for comfort and stability.
There’s something special about gathering with purpose, and the Social Worker and Social Auxiliary Worker Indaba held from 19–22 August at the Hartenbos NG Kerk Youth Hostel was exactly that.
As we reflect on the year’s milestones, one achievement stands out with pride: Overstrand APD has been named a runner-up in the SAB Foundation Social Innovation and Disability Empowerment Awards, a national platform that celebrates bold ideas and real-world impact.
Tembaletu Centre’s baking project is turning ovens into opportunities!
As 2025 draws to a close, WCAPD reflects with gratitude on its partnership with Urban Earth, a collaboration that has opened doors to new projects and programmes, empowering our organisation to think boldly about inclusion in the context of climate change.
At WCAPD, inclusion isn’t just about access, it’s about fit. Adult Inclusion Drive Assessment (AIDA) is a practical tool designed to help social workers match adults with impairments to the right Skills and Work Centre (SWC) programmes, based on their motivation and drive.
