THERE’S POWER IN PARTNERSHIP
Oudtshoorn Unites for Disability Rights
There’s a powerful alliance taking shape in Oudtshoorn, one that promises to shift the dial on disability inclusion in the region. Disability Oudtshoorn (DO) and the Oudtshoorn Association for People with Disabilities (APD) have formalised a long-term partnership, led by APD’s Johnwin Manuel.
Their shared mission?
To amplify advocacy, expand access, and create pathways for people with disabilities to access opportunities, shape their futures, and participate fully in the life of their communities.
The collaboration will drive joint awareness campaigns like Walk a Mile in My Wheels and the Nappy Run, while also unlocking new opportunities in adaptive sports and entrepreneurship. Shared training and resource pooling will strengthen both organisations’ ability to deliver real impact.
“This is more than a partnership,” says Manuel. “It’s a united front for dignity, access, and opportunity.”

Western Cape APD congratulates both organisations on this milestone and looks forward to seeing the benefits of this partnership unfold in the coming months bringing real change to the lives of persons with disabilities.
